FRANK FM LAUNCHES LOCAL MUSIC CONCERT SERIES
Monthly Concerts To Be Held at Tupelo Music Hall
Frank FM (106.3) announced today that it has teamed up with Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry to present a series of free concerts featuring local musical artists and bands. Called “Live at Frank’s Place,” the monthly show’s first performance will showcase the Brooks Young Band at Tupelo on Wednesday, July 17. The series is sponsored by Small Dog Electronics of Manchester.
Small Dog Electronics, headquartered in neighboring Vermont, is your local Apple specialist. Apple users are traditionally huge music lovers, so sponsoring a unique series such as "Live at Frank's Place" and the opportunity to cast a spotlight on rising stars on the local music scene had a real appeal to Small Dog; Their expansion a few years ago to the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester and the chance to partner with a locally owned station like 106.3 Frank FM and a respected music venue like Tupelo Music Hall had a special attraction. The team at Small Dog Electronics looks forward to these intimate music sessions.
The brainchild of Frank FM air personality Chris DeSimone and Steve Friedman, Senior Account Executive at Binnie Media, the station’s owner, the concert series is an outgrowth of the station’s popular “Frank’s Local Music Show,” hosted by DeSimone at 8:00pm Sunday nights.
Said DeSimone, “as a Classic Hits station, the Frank mix includes a ton of classic artists with New England roots, such as Aerosmith and the J. Geils Band. It’s only natural that we would champion local music, both from the classic artists and from contemporary musicians as well.”
He went on to add, “Since we’re known as ‘Number One for Classic Hits,’ the logical place to showcase these artists in live performance is the Number One live music venue, Tupelo Music Hall.” Now approaching its ninth anniversary, Tupelo has consistently been voted the best live music venue in New Hampshire by readers of New Hampshire Magazine, the Hippo Press, and the New Hampshire Union Leader.
The “Live at Frank’s Place” shows will be intimate, in keeping with the Tupelo tradition. Said DeSimone, “we’re excited to be able to showcase the area’s best local talent in a warm, inviting setting for Frank Nation. That, along with the ability to give fans a chance to get to know the bands up close and personal with our Q & A sessions, will make these shows a night to remember for all involved: the performers, the audience and myself.”
All of the concerts will be free admission and will be awarded to contest winners. To get tickets, listen to 106.3 Frank FM, or become a Facebook Fan of Small Dog Electronics, Tupelo Music Hall, or 106.3 Frank FM. In addition to the kick-off show, performances are now being scheduled for the third Wednesday of every month and will be announced in coming weeks.
